Haunted & Twisted History Tour
October 11, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us for a spooky stroll through Raleigh. On this informative and engaging Raleigh Haunted & Twisted History walking tour, you will hear stories about ghosts, hauntings, and other paranormal activity in Raleigh. This walking tour is not your typical “ghost tour” with special effects, and we will not be looking for ghosts. Instead, it is a history tour that discusses real hauntings resulting from past events and other twisted, unbelievable historical happenings.
The Raleigh ghost tour begins outside the N.C. Executive Mansion (Governor’s Mansion), 200 N. Blount St, at the corner of Blount St. and Jones St. There are stops at several city landmarks, where your guide will discuss the history and legacy of the Raleigh landmark and then regale you with an eerie story. Other haunted and twisted stories will be presented as the group ventures along the route. This ghost tour is a perfect combination of haunts and history!
PLEASE NOTE: This Raleigh ghost tour is NOT recommended for children under 14 years old, as a few of the stories may be too scary or gory for them. The tour lasts approximately 90 to 105 minutes, depending on the size and speed of the group. We will start at the Governor’s Mansion at 200 N. Blount St. The Governor’s Mansion takes up an entire city block, so please make sure that you are on the Blount St. side of the mansion. The starting point for the summer is in the shade on the corner of Blount and Jones Sts. Please do NOT attempt to enter the grounds of the Governor’s Mansion at any time, especially through any of the corner entrances. Also, please do not buzz any of the intercoms at the Mansion gates. The end point of the tour is approximately 2 blocks away from the starting point. In addition, we will NOT be entering any of the buildings listed in this tour description.
These tours are pay-what-you-want — if you enjoy the tour, please compensate your guide appropriately! Usually, the guide receives $15 to $20 per adult, but you are free to give more or less than that, depending on how you feel about your tour. As you can imagine, the tour guide has to work hard to earn your appreciation!
